Poster Presentation Guidelines

  • Abstract submitters can choose one of the following modes of presentation when submitting their abstracts via the Abstract Submission Portal:

  1. Oral presentation

  2. Poster presentation

  • Important note for student participants: Students must choose between entering their posters for the Global Health Student Poster Contest OR through the regular abstract submission portal to be considered for the general abstract review process.

  • An accepted abstract, by default, will be considered for oral and poster presentation. If the submitting author prefers poster presentation to oral presentation. Please indicate it when submitting the abstract.

  • The Conference’s Scientific Committee will make the selection of abstracts for oral or poster in August 2021. An abstract acceptance notification will be sent out to the submitting authors by 31 August 2021.

1. Prepare an electronic poster (e-Poster) which meets the following criteria:

  • Due to the virtual nature of the conference, we are only accepting  electronic posters (e-Posters) in PDF format.

  • Printed posters or photographs of printed posters will NOT be accepted.

Poster Size:

  • Pixels: 1920px (Width) x 1080px (Height), HD

  • Format: 16:9

  • Layout: Landscape (Horizontal orientation), up to 3 pages

  • Text should be in ENGLISH only.

Poster Title:

  • The title should be displayed at the top of the poster, in the lettering of 18 Bold (Times New Roman), and include the following information: Name(s) of the Author(s) and Affiliation(s).

  • It is recommended to keep the title of the poster same as in the submitted abstract. Slight modification which does not change the idea of the abstract is also allowed.

  • Please put your poster code on the top right corner of the poster.

Poster Content:

  • The content should contain the study purpose/background, methods, results and conclusion(s).

  • The content (except the title) may be displayed in, usually, three columns.

  • It is recommended to use 14 Times New Roman font style for the content of the poster.

  • Please use both UPPER and lower case letters for general content, as all-capital text is difficult to read.

  • Try to keep the text easy to read and concise. The poster should have a clear message, a logical layout and be easy to comprehend.

  • Avoid the use of full sentences and rather use short text in bullet point format.

  • Avoid using watermarks that may detract from the readability of your poster.

  • Make sure there is enough contrast between the colour of the text and the poster’s background.

  • Illustrations are the most important part of the poster and will attract the most attention. Explanatory illustrations should be used instead of text whenever possible.

  • Static images/photos, graphs and tables can be included in the e-poster. Hyperlinks, video files and animations are not permitted and will be non-functioning.

  • QR codes may be included as part of your poster to direct viewers to a download of your poster.

  • Try to utilise the space on your poster as creatively as you can to attract the audience and make sure that the images are easy to understand.

  • Illustrations should be professionally drawn. Hand-drawn material will not be accepted.
