Student Poster Contest

Among a total of 54 submissions from 24 universities in Australia, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Macao, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan and the United States, our international panel of judges have nominated seven outstanding entries which show exemplary insights to global health issues.

Winners 


Undergraduate Category
 

1st place: Lei Huang, The University of Macau. “Fast food restaurant density and weight status: A spatial analysis among Filipina migrant workers in Macao (SAR), People’s Republic of China.”

2nd place: Cynthia Sin Nga Lam, The University of Hong Kong. “How are students combating noncommunicable diseases?: A review of intervention design in NCD projects initiated by medical students.”

3rd place (tie): Ida Ayu Gede Jyotidiwy and Nur Rachmat Satria, University of Indonesia. “Musculoskeletal & eyes symptoms due to posture while using mobile phone among elderly and young user.”

3rd place (tie): Wonjun Jang, Sangeun Je, Ahra Cho, Do Yun Kim, Pohang University of Science and Technology. “Treatment system for severe dementia patients using multi sensory stimulation.”

 

Graduate Category
 

1st place: Chia-pei Lin, National Taiwan University. “The association between religion and self-rated health: A case of Taiwan.”

2nd place: Gina L. Leipertz, The University of Sydney. “Factors associated with pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) awareness and interest among men who have sex with men (MSM) in Shanghai, China who use geosocial networking (GSN) applications.”

 

3rd place: Malia E Skjefte, Harvard University. “The biological factors affecting the performance of HRP2-based malaria rapid diagnostic tests (RDTs)”

 

 

Prize

A prize of $100 US will be awarded for the best undergraduate and best graduate posters (one in each category). Second and third place will also be selected but no cash prize will be offered. For first place winners, you must be present at the conference to receive the prize, or send someone to pick it up for you.

 

 
Others

  • All eligible student poster submissions will generally be accepted for the conference and be displayed either in print or virtually.

  • You are not required to attend the conference in order to be eligible for the Student Poster Contest. However, we encourage you to attend the conference. In case you cannot attend, you should send your poster with someone else who is going (a friend, faculty mentor, etc.).

  • The poster should measure a maximum of 0.75m wide by 1m tall.
